Why did you choose to work in the field of SpLD?

As a therapist working with children with emotional and behavioural challenges I became concerned with their academic challenges.

What is one thing that never fails to make you smile in the work that you do?

A child’s smile.

What do you think is the most important quality/value/belief a person must have when working in the field of Special Education?

That every individual has potential.

What is the one thing you would do to improve special education in your country?

Help special educators to think out of the box.

What motivated you to become a RETA member and how has it benefitted you?

I wanted to meet and learn from other professionals who work in the field. I’ve been inspired by the drive and passion of many such professionals.

What advice would you give someone who has special educational needs or lives/works with people with special educational needs?

Compare only with what YOU were yesterday, not with anybody else. Focus and develop your strengths along with working on your challenges.
