Anuja, an experienced educational therapist and special education teacher, supports children with diverse needs, including dyslexia, ADHD, autism, and intellectual disabilities. She holds a Bachelor of Education in Special Educational Needs from the Asian College of Teachers-European International University, Paris. Specialising in multisensory interventions, Anuja enhances literacy, numeracy, behaviour management, and social-emotional skills. She also provides shadow support and small-group learning tailored to each child. As a parent, Anuja values collaboration with families and schools, aiming to build confidence, independence, and a lifelong love for learning in every child. |
Faith Yee Flexi Teacher |
Faith, an experienced primary and secondary teacher in both mainstream and private schools, understands the demands of MOE examinations and the challenges faced by students, including those with dyslexia, ADD, and autism. With over 15 years of experience, Faith is passionate about empowering students and believes that the right strategies can help anyone succeed. Her journey began when she discovered why a student excelled in verbal exams but struggled with written ones. Since then, she has helped many students adopt personalised learning techniques, occasionally incorporating drama-based methods for smaller groups. Faith stays updated with new approaches and sees herself as a coach, guiding her students to progress and thrive. |
Gladys Wee-Bourne Senior Educational Therapist |
Ms Gladys Wee joined DAS in 2002, beginning as a sessional teacher before transitioning to Specialist Tutoring (1-on-1 teaching). She is a passionate and accomplished educator, supporting students from Kindergarten to Secondary levels. A sensitive communicator, Ms Gladys tailors her lessons to each child’s learning style while balancing academic standards and parental expectations. Her engaging, multisensory activities build rapport, boost retention, and keep students motivated. She focuses on fostering confidence in reading, writing, and personal growth. |
Jiarou Ooi Educational Therapist |
Jiarou Ooi, founder and CEO of Joyeux, is a Senior Educational Therapist, Early Interventionist, and Handwriting Specialist with over a decade of experience. She is committed to providing personalised, high-quality support for children with special needs and learning difficulties, focusing on home-based interventions that empower both children and their families. Sharen brings over 14 years of experience supporting individuals with ASD, ADHD, dyslexia, dyscalculia, and other learning and behavioural needs. She specialises in designing Individualised Goals (IG) and early intervention programmes for children aged 18 months to 16 years, working closely with multi-disciplinary teams to tailor interventions. At Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Sharen leads initiatives for neurodiverse students, providing ADHD screening, executive functioning assessments, and co-managing students with comorbidities. She also conducts workshops on time management, resilience, and inclusive teaching for staff and students. Rachel Abraham Special Education Consultant/Structured Literacy Dyslexia Interventionist |
Rachel Abraham, a Structured Literacy Dyslexia Interventionist and founder of Dyslexia PowerUp, offers research-based interventions virtually for children and adults with Dyslexia. Her mission is to deliver accelerated literacy results, close gaps, and empower transformative success. In addition to consultations, coaching, and training, Rachel assists families in their children’s learning journeys as a verified service provider with IDA, CERI, and OGA (USA). With over 20 years of experience as a K-12 special education teacher at leading international schools across Asia and the Middle East, Rachel has spearheaded Learning Support programs for students with diverse learning needs. Since 1992, she collaborated with parents and educators to teach primary and middle school learners with mild to severe learning difficulties. Rachel provided individualized home interventions and school liaison services, as well as conducted comprehensive assessments for homeschooling families. |
Matthew Wong Flexi Educational Therapist |
With 17 years of experience, Matthew is a dedicated educator committed to supporting and tutoring students with dyslexia and other special needs. Currently serving as a Senior Educational Therapist at DAS, he specializes in the Main Literacy and Math programs, tailoring his approach to meet the unique needs of each student. Matthew has worked with learners across all levels, from primary to tertiary, and he is passionate about helping struggling students find success. Lilian Yue Senior Educational Therapist |
Lilian started in the DAS in Oct 2008. She has been an educational therapist working with primary and secondary students for MLP since joining. In 2014, Lilian joined the Chinese team and dual specialised in Chinese for Primary school students. She completed the Diploma in Professional Chinese Teaching by SCCIOB in 2015. She has been a member of RETA since 2017. |
Isaac Tan Principal Therapist |
Isaac Tan holds a Master’s in Education (SPED), an Associateship (SEN) from the College of Teachers (UK), and a Diploma in Child Psychology. Isaac is also a Licentiate at the INPP and a Consultant in Blomberg Rhythmic Movement Training. Specialising in learning difficulties like ADHD, dyslexia, and autism, Isaac offers interventions for children and training for parents and educators. He has served as an adjunct lecturer in Special Education at the College of Allied Educators. |

Veena Jayanth is passionate about helping children with specific learning differences reach their potential. With a Diploma in Special Education and experience as both a classroom teacher and special educator, she tailors curriculum-based remediation to each child’s learning style, resulting in improved performance and confidence. Having worked in international schools across Singapore, Veena is familiar with various curricula and has successfully supported learners in managing them. Sarah Lee Wong Holistic Growth coach |
Combining over 25 years in education with therapy and coaching expertise, Sarah Lee empowers neurodivergent individuals, families, and educators to thrive and flourish. She works with individuals across the age spectrum, addressing complex neuroprofiles involving learning and behavioural differences. Sarah provides holistic solutions using a strengths-based, values-centric, and collaborative approach, working closely with clients, their families, and other clinicians and therapists. Madinah is a dedicated counsellor, educator, and coach with over 10 years of experience working with children with special educational needs, particularly dyslexia, through her work with the Dyslexia Association of Singapore (DAS). She holds a Master’s in Counselling, a Bachelor’s in Psychology, Post-graduate Certificate and Specialist Diploma in Special Education. Fehmina Khan Educational Therapist |
Fehmina’s teaching journey began in 1997, igniting her passion for supporting students with diverse learning needs. This dedication led her to pursue advanced training, including the Orton-Gillingham teacher course in 2007, and additional certifications from the British Dyslexia Association, Direct Learning, and the Dyslexia Association of Singapore. Today, Fehmina serves as an Educational Therapist at Links, a COBIS-affiliated school in Karachi, Pakistan. Eve brings over a decade of experience in the Autism and Special Needs field, having begun her career as a Neurofeedback Therapist at Spectrum Learning before advancing through roles as a Behavioural Therapist and Case Manager. A graduate of Edith Cowan University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, Eve’s dedication to her work is matched only by her humility and openness to continued learning. Her colleagues and clients frequently highlight her remarkable commitment, both professionally and personally. Beyond her contributions in the therapy room, Eve’s passion for sports, particularly trail running, mirrors her dedication to children with special needs. Rahayu has been a dedicated member of the Dyslexia Association of Singapore (DAS) since 2012, initially starting as a Learning Support Officer and now serving as a Preschool Educational Therapist with a focus on early intervention. With 16 years of experience, she combines her expertise to foster growth in children with various learning differences such as dyslexia, autism, GDD, and ADHD. Her qualifications in Special Education and Psychology (Diploma in Special Education- National Institute of Education & Degree in Psychology- Singapore University of Social Sciences) enables her to effectively address and meet the needs of both her students and their families. Valerie is a Lead Learning Support Educator with extensive experience working with preschool children who have developmental delays through the Development Support and Learning Support programmrs. She leads a team in delivering tailored support programmes within mainstream classrooms, ensuring each child receives the individualised attention they need. As an Educational Therapy Professional, Valerie also provides targeted literacy interventions in one-on-one sessions and within the classroom. She also collaborates with teachers to implement effective in-class support strategies. As the Programme Director and an Educational Therapist at Reading Specialists, Joanna specialises in literacy intervention and adopts a collaborative, strengths-based approach when working with children and their families. She has recently co-authored a reading textbook entitled “ABCs of Reading: How to Teach Your Child to Read,” designed to guide parents and early years educators in effectively teaching children to read through the science of reading. Wendy boasts extensive expertise in early childhood education, accumulating over 25 years of experience. She has garnered multiple Special Commendation Awards and dedicated nearly a decade of her career to the NIEC (ITE) campus. Wendy holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Education from the University of South Australia (UNISa) and a Master’s in Education (Special Education) from Nanyang Technological University. Since April 1st, 2020, Wendy has been in the role of Centre Manager and Chief Educational Therapist at Imagine If. In this capacity, she creates personalized skill profiles, establishes relevant objectives, and meticulously plans lessons. Wendy is responsible for implementing behavioral, social, motor, communication, and academic curriculum goals within her inclusive preschool and kindergarten classes. Many of her students exhibit developmental delays and various disorders, including autism, global developmental delay, dyspraxia, and intellectual disability. |

Chen Wei Teng Educational Consultant |
Formerly a journalist, Chen Wei Teng found her calling in teaching when she discovered her passion in helping children and teenagers with literacy difficulties master the English language. She has 18 years of experience providing effective interventions and support to young learners struggling with literacy. Her past experiences includes working with at-risk teenagers from disadvantaged family backgrounds at NorthLight School (Singapore) where she played an integral role in planning and implementing the school’s literacy support programme for students with dyslexia and other SpLDs. She also previously served as a Senior Educational Therapist at the Dyslexia Association of Singapore (DAS), where she was part of the curriculum team that designed comprehensive frameworks for dyslexic students, focusing on speaking, listening, writing, and grammar, and also contributed to teacher training programs. Priscillia Shen Assistant Head of DAS Academy |
Dr Priscillia Shen began her special education journey as an Educational Therapist at DAS and has more than 10 years of experience in the field of special educational needs, especially in dyslexia. Her previous experience as an Educational Therapist and working closely with learners with Special Educational Needs (SEN) has allowed her to take on a constructive and practical pedagogical approach. She believes in keeping up with current developments in the field to continually refine teaching practices and maintain professional passion. She is also a qualified trainer with the Advanced Certificate in Training and Assessment (ACTA) and Diploma in Adult and Continuing Education (DACE) by the Singapore Workforce Skills Qualifications (WSQ). While lecturing at the DAS Academy, she has obtained her Doctorate in Education (EdD) at the National Institute of Education of Nanyang Technological University (NIE, NTU) in Singapore and the Institute of Education of University College London (IOE, UCL) in UK, London. Her research interests are in dyslexia, bilingualism, Chinese language and Mathematics. She has been co-presenting papers on learning difficulties in Chinese language and Mathematics in relation to dyslexia at conferences since 2012. |

Meetal is an experienced educator with a background in teaching students with additional needs. Meetal joined DAS International in June 2020 as a Specialist Tutor and she has been teaching students who struggle to learn, at both primary and secondary levels. Her teaching career spans 12 years, during which she has worked with learners who require extra support in both primary and secondary levels. She is currently a Middle School teacher at The Winstedt School, where she teaches English Language, International Mindedness, social emotional learning, and provides support in various subjects. Meetal is qualified in TESOL and holds a Bachelor’s degree and a Diploma in Special Education. She has extensive experience in teaching mixed-ability learners and supporting students with conditions such as Autism, Dyslexia, and Hemiplegia. Additionally, she has implemented dyslexia remediation programs and conducted reading programs for children. As a lifelong learner, she endeavours to continue championing students with additional needs and encourages creativity, activity or play-based learning. |
Adrienne Lim Educational Therapist |
Adrienne boasts a decade of experience in tutoring and providing support to children and adults with dyslexia. Since June 2017, she has been a valued member of the DAS team, where she provides targeted intervention for learners with dyslexia and other co-morbidities, such as ADHD, ADD, Social Anxiety Disorder, and Autism, at both the primary and secondary levels through P2P (Preparation for English Paper 2 PSLE) Programme and Main Literacy Programme. As a parent of grown children who have successfully overcome learning and behavioral challenges, Adrienne possesses a deep understanding of the complexities involved and can provide comprehensive support not just to the child but to the entire family. She endeavors to boost the self-esteem of her students and improve communication within families. Adrienne is passionate about making a positive impact on her students’ lives, not only academically but also in terms of their mental, emotional, and behavioral well-being. Preeti Bhati Head of Additional Needs, DSL |
Preeti, an experienced educator, finds familiarity in the challenges and expectations of education, which both thrill and intimidate her. With almost 30 years of experience teaching neurodiverse children and teens, she has transitioned from tutoring children with hearing and visual impairment to supporting those with additional learning needs. Her higher degrees in education and counselling enable her to take a holistic approach to supporting children with dyslexia and other learning needs. Preeti currently heads the Whole School Student Support Department in an International school in Singapore, where she offers consultations on educational pathways that affect long-term outcomes. Despite her expertise, Preeti remains a lifelong learner, having learned to swim at 22 and taken up the piano at 43. |

Allena is an accomplished Educational Therapist with a demonstrated history of working in the education management industry. With a Masters of Psychology in Education from the University of Bristol in the UK, and a Specialist Diploma in Learning Differences focused on Special Education and Teaching from DAS Academy, she is a highly skilled education professional. Collaborating with doctors and other professionals, such as psychologists, occupational therapists, and speech and language therapists, Allena works closely to discuss cases and provide expert therapy interventions to clients. Her expertise extends to working with children who face a range of learning differences, such as Dyslexia, ADHD, Autism, and GDD, in both government and private sectors. Drawing on her ten years of experience in special education, Allena finds her work highly fulfilling. Yoke Kheng Senior Learning Support Educator |
Yoke Kheng is a Senior Learning Support Educator at NTUC First Campus. She holds two portfolios, as an Educational Therapy Professional and as an LSED. Having worked in both Early Childhood and Early Intervention settings, she believes that all children can learn if we know how to teach them. Yoke Kheng is OG trained and holds a Masters of Science in Early Childhood Education from Wheelock College (Boston, USA) to help her live out that belief. She also recently obtained her fellowship under RETA. |
Jabari Amin Levi Special Education Team Lead |
Before working internationally, Jabari worked as a Special Education Teacher, Youth At-Risk counselor, and Head Basketball Trainer/Coach. Jabari currently works at Stamford American School as a Special Education Team Lead. His goal is to provide efficient communication and adequate support with fidelity for parents, teachers, and students to meet the diverse needs of all learners. Jabari has a passion for working with students with exceptionalities to share his philosophy of having a Growth Mindset. Jabari teaches strategies for Emotional Intelligence, Executive Functioning, and Critical Thinking. Jabari has served the Singapore International Community for four years and recently added the Visible Thinking (Harvard), MARIO Educator, and Together Leader Endorsements. |

Dr June Siew provides thought leadership in the field of special educational needs (SEN), focusing on dyslexia. She holds a grounded perspective of SEN, developed through her extensive experiences with students and their community of support. She has been a strong advocate of inclusive educational practices in mainstream schools since 2005. She believes that the family and community are key to a child’s success and works closely with them to help students with SEN thrive. June holds a Doctor in Education from the University College London and Nanyang Technological University. She is a Fellow with the Register of Educational Therapists (Asia) and a qualified trainer with a WSQ Advanced Certificate in Training and Assessment (ACTA). |
Shilpa Madane Senior Specialist Tutor |
Shilpa started her teaching career with a private preschool in Singapore, which catered to children of various nationalities. Her interaction with some students who had learning difficulties drove her to train in Orton-Gillingham Approach and obtain Dyslexia Diploma to help children with special learning needs. Shilpa’s aim is to understand the strengths, weaknesses, and learning styles of children in order to design individualized programs to help and motivate them to achieve their targets. She believes that it is important to build a strong rapport with students and create a conducive learning environment for the smooth delivery of knowledge. Before joining DAS International in April 2013, Shilpa taught Literacy and Math to students with multiple learning difficulties including dyslexia, dyscalculia, and ADHD for about 6 years as a private tutor. Having a strong background and interest in Mathematics drives her to cultivate a love of the subject in my students. |

Kong Yun Rui Lead Educational Therapist & Associate Lecturer (DAS Academy) |
Yun Rui has been with the Dyslexia Association of Singapore (DAS) since 2012. She provides intervention for learners with dyslexia on the Chinese Programme. Additionally, she is an associate lecturer with the DAS Academy, training and equipping parents and educators to better support learners with specific learning differences and responsible for the training of educational therapists in the provision of Chinese intervention. Awarded the CEO Commendation Award in February 2017 for her contribution to knowledge in the assessment of Chinese literacy, Yun Rui has a strong interest in developing the whole child and in bilingualism. She also actively looks into the development of educational therapists to provide a holistic learning environment for the child. Yun Rui is also part of the Specific Learning Difficulties Committee at the DAS which looks at curriculum review to effectively support learners and the training and resources required to support professionals in their work with children with learning challenges. |

Soofrina joined the Dyslexia Association of Singapore (DAS) in early 2012 and is now the EdTech Coordinator for the ELL Division and a Senior Educational Therapist, teaching the Main Literacy Programme (MLP). Through working with dyslexic learners, Soofrina developed the interest to incorporate educational technologies in the MLP lessons to make learning and teaching both efficient and within reach for all. Guided by the mantra “As slow as we must but as fast as we can”, Soofrina explored classroom differentiation using EdTech tools and now passionately shares knowledge for the professional development of teaching colleagues. With a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics and Finance, Soofrina pursued post-graduate studies in Special Educational Needs and is currently sponsored by DAS to complete her Master of Arts (Instructional Design and Technology) in National Institute of Education (NIE). |
![]() Ng Mui Hoon Patricia Part-Time Lecturer |
Patricia M. H. Ng is an experienced educational consultant who specialises in educational therapy for children with and without special needs, from preschool to secondary levels. Her ability to engage with children and help them make improvements in their studies has garnered her much support from the parents. Patricia has also taught pre-service and in-service teacher courses in special education and conducted research projects in early childhood and special education. Her work in research has been recognized with the award of the Dean’s Commendation for Research in her Master in Education (Special Education) degree from National Institute of Education (NIE)/Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore (SG). Patricia is also the winner of the 2013 Society for Reading and Literacy Research Award. The areas covered in her published works include those on language and literacy difficulties, challenging behaviors, as well as interventions involving PE, music and robotics. |

Mdm Aishah has been with the Dyslexia Association of Singapore (DAS) since 2007 and is one of the pioneer members of the Maths core team. She provides Mathematics intervention for learners with dyslexia on the SES Mathematics Programme. She strongly believes that students learn mathematics concepts readily when Mathematics is made meaningful and fun for them. Aside from her teaching responsibilities, Mdm Aishah has experience conducting talks and workshops for parents and students. She also plays a key role in coordinating and facilitating teacher training for new Maths teachers. Mdm Aishah has years of experience with curriculum planning under her belt. She currently contributes to the Problem Sums for Upper Primary Mathematics Curriculum by creating some of its teaching approaches and lesson materials. |

Tuty has been with the Dyslexia Association of Singapore (DAS) since 2010. She provides intervention for learners with dyslexia on the Prep 2 PSLE (Preparation for English Paper 2 PSLE) and Main Literacy programmes. In addition, she oversees the development of curriculum and resources for Prep 2 PSLE, training of its teachers and evaluation of their classroom practices. She also conducts talks organised by the DAS Parents’ Support Group (PSG) to offer parents practical tips and strategies to help their child overcome their learning difficulties. Tuty has a Masters of Arts in Special Educational Needs (SEN) from the University of South Wales. Her previous research explored the use of picture books to improve the vocabulary and comprehension skills of learners with dyslexia. Her research interests include social-emotional learning and promoting philosophical thinking among children and young adults. |

Jean holds a Master of Special Education Needs/Additional Learning Needs from the University of South Wales UK (2021) and a Master of Applied Management Theory from the University of Glasgow UK (2005). She has 14 years’ experience in giving general support to students with all kinds of disabilities in higher education, including giving screenings to dyslexia, ADHD and Autism students, making alternative exam arrangement, providing time management and other learning skills support to these students. Jean also has experience in offering trainings for general disability awareness on how to support students with dyslexia, ADHD, autism and other learning differences. She also shares teaching strategies to academic staff. Her interests lie in finding out how to identify students with dyslexia from those who study English as a second language. She is also keen in learning inclusive teaching strategies for students from primary school transitioning to higher education. |
