Bio About

Usha has over 12 years of experience understanding and helping children with learning challenges and their families to be equipped with skills required for daily living and achieve academic  success. She holds a Master of Education (Special Education) from National Institute of Education (NIE), Singapore and has obtained Diploma in Learning Disorder Management and Child Psychology from the College of Allied Educators.

In Educational Therapy, Usha employs an eclectic approach to teaching and learning using various intervention methods to improve her student’s literacy and mathematical concepts. Together with academic support, they have benefitted from cognitive exercises to stimulate their executive functions and received effective strategies for self-regulation that were aligned to their individual needs helping them build a positive relationship with families and friends.

As a mediator, she adapts herself to the children’s learning style allowing them to learn at their own pace, strengthen their cognitive development and develop better social – emotional regulation.

A person’s ability to learn can be improved when provided a conducive learning environment.
