Bio About

Joanne holds a Master of Science in Early Childhood Education and has a Diploma in Dyslexia studies. She values the importance of early literacy and believes that early intervention is crucial in helping struggling readers achieve. Joanne joined the Dyslexia Association of Singapore in 2004 and has dedicated her work to teaching preschoolers at risk of learning difficulties. Aside from working with young children, Joanne also coaches teachers and conducts awareness talks and workshops for parents.

Gerard has been most blessed to have been taught by Teacher Joanne.
Under 15 months of skilful tutelage and patient guidance by Teacher Joanne, Gerard's progress in kindergarten and primary school has been most encouraging. Gerard is now able to read independently. More importantly, he loves to read and he loves attending classes at DAS. We look forward to him reading to learn in addition to learning to read.

Teacher Joanne's belief that every child can learn and improve is infectious and it has intrinsically motivated Gerard to believe in and better himself. Her 'mantra' to the children is to have faith that they can learn and improve. With timely and just-in-time feedback given to Gerard, Teacher Joanne is able help him achieve his potential such that he is able to better cope with his primary school assignments. Teacher Joanne also goes the extra mile to provide feedback to us so that we can better guide him at home after his DAS classes.
Teacher Joanne is a dedicated educator and life-coach who believes in the holistic development of the children under her charge.
