Bio About
Senior Disability Support Advisor in the University of Nottingham Ningbo China. Jean has a Master of Applied Management Theory from the University of Glasgow UK in 2005. She also has a Master of Special Education Needs/Additional Learning Needs from the University of South Wales UK in 2021. She has 13 years of experience in giving general support to students with all kinds of disabilities in higher education, including giving screenings to dyslexia, ADHD, and Autism students, making alternative exam arrangements, providing time management and other learning skills support to these students. She also has experience in offering training in general disability awareness, how to support dyslexia, ADHD, Autism, and other learning differences students, inclusive teaching strategies to academic staff, etc. for almost ten years. She is interested in how to identify students with dyslexia from students who study English as a second language, she is also interested in inclusive teaching strategies for students from primary school to higher education.
I meet different kinds of students in the community, and everyone possesses dreams and aspirations, yet faces unique physical or mental challenges. I hold the concept of disability inclusion which aims to break down these boundaries, enable everyone to express themselves equally, and collectively create a diverse, inclusive, and loving world, where differences become the most beautiful landscape.
