Bio About

Samunn joined DAS in 2008. He joined as an Educational Therapist and worked his way up to Senior Educational Therapist at the DAS. He also holds a Master's degree in Specific Learning Differences (M.A. SpLD) from London Metropolitan University, UK. After leaving DAS at the end of 2022, Samunn now operates his private educational therapy practice, Samunn's Educational Therapy, back home in Sri Lanka. 

He delivers online and F2F intervention and/or remediation lessons in literacy, numeracy, English language, and math to learners with dyslexia and other SpLDs. In addition, he conducts webinars and workshops in Educational Assistive Technology (EAT), Universal Design for Learning (UDL), and Design Thinking in SEN for parents and educators. He has 37 years of experience in teaching English as a Second Language (ESL).

He is also currently pursuing his PhD at the Universiti Teknologi Malaysia in Johor Bahru, Malaysia. His research interests include supporting emerging and adult learners with SpLD in higher education and helping create positive learning spaces for them with technology.
