Bio About

My name is Wency (Wencyglen Hallares Oropesa), and I am currently a full-time Educational Therapist at the Dyslexia Association of Singapore (DAS), teaching at Chua Chu Kang Learning Centre while also supporting Henderson Learning Centre. I began my journey at DAS on June 2023, but my teaching career started in 2012. What initially began as a curiosity about teaching has since evolved into a passionate pursuit and an integral part of my professional growth, driven by a desire to inspire and empower learners.

As an educational therapist, my goal is to help students with dyslexia and other learning differences develop a growth mindset. I aim to guide them in viewing challenges as opportunities for growth, equipping them with tailored strategies and fostering resilience. Instead of avoiding difficulties, I seek to encourage students to embrace these as part of their learning journey, recognising that progress is achieved through persistence and learning from setbacks. This work is not about making the journey effortless but about equipping students with the tools and confidence they need to face challenges, overcome obstacles and achieve their full potential.
