Bio About

With 11 years in the education field and social service, Meetal has teaching experiences with learners who have additional needs.  Having been with DAS International since June 2020 till now as a Specialist Tutor, she has been teaching students with learning needs, both primary and secondary levels. Previously supporting the cognitive, learning and behavioural needs of students in SHINE Children and Youth Services, she taught primary level students. Having worked in local schools and taught ESL/ mainstream subjects in an international school as a Homeroom Teacher, she has been teaching mixed ability learners. Further to that, her TESOL qualifications equip her to educate learners who take English as an additional or second language. Meetal completed a Bachelor's degree from Northumbria University, UK with an honours dissertation on vocational prospects for youth with Autism.  She has a Diploma in Special Education from NIE-NTU, trained in the Orton Gillingham approach, Autism and has carried out the school based dyslexia remediation program. She has run reading programs for children who require either reading skills or exposure to various thematic vocabulary. During that time and thereafter, she would tutor and support primary and lower secondary students with special needs (i.e. Autism, Dyslexia, Hemiplagia & other needs).  Spending time with and tutoring the youth with Muscular Dystrophy gave her insight into the importance of inclusiveness. As a lifelong learner, she endeavours to continue championing students with additional needs and encourages creativity, activity or play based learning.
