Bio About
Jessica joined the Dyslexia Association in June 2021. She obtained her English Education Degree in 2005, and the Specialist Diploma Educational Therapy(Chinese Support) in 2022. She is an Educational Therapist of Chinese Language at DAS Learning Centres. She provides intervention for learners with Dyslexia and other specific learning differences in the Chinese programme at the primary & secondary school level. As an Educational Therapist, Jessica's experience comes from teaching foreigners Chinese as a second language, she has a keen interest in developing a suitable curriculum that addresses the needs of different learners. She's using a variety of teaching methods to foster students' interests in Chinese. Jessica always encourages and motivates students to learn in a relaxed and fun class atmosphere. As a language educator ,she understands language and culture influence each other-Our thinking is shown in the language we use, and the language we use shapes our way of thinking. Hence, she took part in the training of CTCSOL and passed all examinations in 2021, she obtained the teaching licence in Jan 2022 in order to serve her students better!

I have had the pleasure of overseeing Jessica’s training through the mentoring period. She displayed resilience through switching to online classes, took on classes confidently, and is adaptable to help students with various needs and level. She also takes well to constructive feedback and implement strategies in class to help students to overcome their challenges in learning.
Jessica is also a proactive member of the team and takes initiatives to develop and share some of the resources that she has created or referenced. She also seeks training to improve herself professionally, by attending our customized training and external training to improve practices.
