Bio About

Shenmee is a Senior Educational Therapist at Bedok Learning Centre and has been with DAS since 1998. She is trained in the Orton-Gillingham teaching approach and for 23 years, she has taught many groups of students at all levels. Shenmee has found a niche in teaching secondary students, some have achieved a string of A’s in their ‘O’ level examinations.

A Resource Representative, coupled with her wealth of experience, Shenmee has guided many educational therapists in perfecting their teaching techniques and advised them on the effective use of the resources.

After pursuing her studies in Special Education with the National Institute of Education, Shenmee went on to excel at Monash University in Australia, scoring a high distinction in the practicum module in the Bachelor of Special Education.

Her past teaching experiences include teaching at the Centre for Latch-Key Children (Singapore Children’s Society) for 3 years. In addition, she was a teacher with Chao Yang Special School (Association for People with Special Needs) for 14 years. Besides serving as the Level Head, she was also Head of the Mathematics Committee and the Family Life and Sex Education Committee.
